Free Clinic for new players!
All our new 3rd,  4th and 5th grade players are invited to attend a free clinic on February 4th at Lacrosse Evolution in King of Prussia.  The clinic (offered at 12 noon and 1 pm) will introduce the basic skills of the game: cradling, ground balls, throwing and catching.  Look for the e-mail invitation and please respond that you are coming! We hope to see all out new players there.  It is a great way to get an introduction to the sport so you can hit the ground running in March. Contact Sam Murphy, (
sampetermurphy@comcast.net), with any questions.

NEW THIS YEAR FOR 7TH/8TH GRADERS - All 7th and 8th grade players will have the option to choose from the two traditional 7/8 teams or the two Quix Stix Blazers teams.  The two traditional teams will be a mix of players, balanced in skill.  Selections will be based on commitment (able to attend all practices and games) and skill.  Tryouts for the Blazers will be the week of Feb 25th.  Practice for all four teams are Sunday afternoon, games are Saturdays.  This is no change from previous years with the exception of the Blazers playing in two Play Days (replacing the Saturday game).  The Blazers games will be played against teams outside the Quix Stix organization that have a similar selection process to the Blazers.  Players selected to the Blazers will pay any incremental cost associated with the teams.  The 7/8 grade season does not interfere wih school teams or club teams.  Any 7th and 8th grade player who chooses not to try out for the Blazers or who does not get selected will be placed on one of our two traditional 7th/8th teams.  Interested players must be a registered Quix Stix player in order to attend tryouts.

Quix Stix Festival Update

Thank you to all players, parents and coaches for a fantastic day at Teamer!  A special thanks to the Conestoga JVB Team (our own Quix Stix almunae) for donating their time - and talents - to face paint the girls for free.  Also a special thanks to our referees for a job well done; to parent volunteers at our bake sale for both their time and goodies; and our wonderful announcer who helped keep us all informed and on time all day.  Without the help of so many, we couldn't have made this happen.

Thank you to all who donated to our used equipment drive and who stopped by our bake sale to purchase our goods.  All proceeds from our bake sale will go directly to our scholarship fund to help families within our own community enjoy the game of lacrosse.  Your donations tallied over $500!

Finally, I hope to see our new tie-dyed Quix Stix t-shirts all over town!  They were a huge hit.

(Check out the "Photo Gallery" for even more fun pics of the day!)

Quix Stix Clinic . . . Amy Orcutt, CHS Head Varsity Coach and her Varsity lacrosse players spent the afternoon having fun with over 80 Quix Stix players while strengthening their skill set at the same time.  Both our players and the Conestoga girls all had a great day!
