2010 Tournament Team

Five years ago, Quix Stix developed a post-season tournament team for our 5th and 6th grade girls in order to offer them the experience to play at a higher and more competitive level than our developmental spring season allows.

There are many talented and enthusiastic players in the 5/6 division.  Each year, it is extremely difficult to make final selections.  We anticipate that this year will be no different.  This year, we will be fielding one team with approx. 20 players.  We will be offering quality coaching, clinics and tournaments for a minimal fee.  Good Luck to every single player!

Try-Outs:

1)    Try-outs will be open to all 5th and 6th graders who have had at least 2 years of lacrosse experience (to include this year).  We will also receive coach input on the following:  a) Has the player made the majority of practices and games?  b) Is the player committed to the game of lacrosse?   c) Does the player possess the skills needed to play lacrosse at the highest level?

2)    Try-outs will be held in May (dates/times to follow).  Once the date has been set for try-outs, you MUST pre-register.  Come May, to register, you will be asked to send an email to pioneerquixstix@gmail.com stating your daughter's name and grade in order to be assigned a numbered and colored pinnie.  You will receive an email confirmation in return.  During sign-in  your daughter will be given the pinnie assigned to her.

3)    The tournament team will have approx. 20 players, therefore, we will need to make cuts.  After the first try-out (date/time to follow), only those players asked to attend the second try-out will have their pinnie number and color  posted on this site (no names will be listed).  Those players listed  are required to attend the second try-out date (date/time to follow).   After the second try-out, the players selected for the tournament team will have their pinnie number and color posted on this website.  Shortly thereafter, the selected tournament team players will also receive and email with additional specifics and a registration link specifically for the tournament team.

4)  All decisions are final.   Finally, due to the potential conflicts of tournaments and practice schedules, Quix Stix asks that each player is rostered on only one club/tournament team for the 2010 season.

Practices:

1)    Practices will be begin mid-May through July.  Practices are mandatory.

2)    There will be 2 practices per week (time/location/days to follow).

Cost:

1)    The Tournament Team is NOT covered in your spring registration costs.  Once selected to the team, each player will be required to register online and pay the fees in full.

2)    Pioneer Quix Stix is a non-profit organization -- we do not benefit  from the monies collected.  The costs charged for the Tournament Team is our cost to cover registration in tournaments, clinics, field usage, uniform and any guest coach.  We anticipate the total costs for the 2010 Tournament Team to run approx. $405.
